So in October me and my lovely husband went on the search for something, anything for me to do while he was deployed for a year. It just so happens that my local library was having a knit-out. I met the most wonderful group of ladies and proceeded to pick up my needles and give it a try. And I loved, loved, loved it.
I was then invited to their weekly meetings and to join the knitting guild. Woohoo something to do. And I proceeded to take my excited self right over to Hobby Lobby to find something to make. I found a zebra kit and that was it. Ever sense I have been knitting away.
I am now a yarn addict and have recently acquired a spinning wheel to try my hand at actually making yarn. And today my lovely biology teacher brought me some bags of Alpaca fiber. YAY. I am so excited. But of course I had to get my fix on Ravelry first. Which if you are a knitter/crocheter/spinner you should be a member of.
So I am off...to dig into some fiber, and hopefully start a very long life of being a spinner and knitter. I am happy to have finally found something I truly love to do, and that I am actually quite good at. It only took 26 years and that is quicker that it happens for some people.
I am going to try to post my spinning progress on here as I go. Just to have a record for myself.
